Torso and Hip Belt Sizing Info
All backpacks are custom made to your dimensions, so accurately measuring your torso and waist are essential to ensure a good fit.
Things you need
Fabric measuring tape. You need something flexible to get the most accurate measurement.
Help: You can measure your torso by yourself, but it is much easier to get an accurate measurement if a friend measures your torso for you.
Torso Measuring
Step 1: Locate your iliac crest
Your iliac crest is the shelf of bone around your waist created by the top of your pelvis, usually close to inline with your belly button.
Measure from the point where your iliac crest intersects with your spine.
Step 2: Locate your c7 vertebrae.
Tilt your head forward and feel for the bump at the base of your neck. That is your c7 vertebrae.
Step 3: Measure from iliac crest to c7.
Stand up straight, look forward, and have your friend use the fabric measuring tape to measure your spine from your iliac crest up to your c7 vertebrae.
That measurement is your torso length and determines the distance between the hip belt and the shoulder straps on your backpack.
Waist Measuring
Step 1: Locate your iliac crest
If you did the torso measurement you should be a pro at finding your iliac crest by now.
Step 2: Measure the circumference around your body at your iliac crest.
That measurement is not your pant size.
This is where you will wear the hip belt.
This is your waist measurement and determines the size of the padded hip belt.
